STAND FOR SOMETHING GOOD™

When Shake Shack started as a hot dog cart in New York City's Madison Square Park, our mission was simple: raise funds for a public art project.

As we grew into a global business, our mission to Stand For Something Good expanded to include taking care of our team, sourcing premium ingredients from partners with the same dedication to quality, designing our Shacks responsibly, supporting our communities through donations, events, volunteering—and much more.

Doing good is in our roots, a part of our DNA since day one. 20 years later, we're still continuing to expand and evolve our mission to Stand For Something Good in everything we do.

Good Ingredients

We pride ourselves on sourcing incredible ingredients from like-minded ranchers, farmers, bakers and food purveyors. Our burgers are made with 100% all-natural beef – vegetarian-fed, humanely raised and Angus source verified. No added hormones and antibiotics. Our flat-top dogs? 100% all-natural beef. Our fries are crinkle-cut potatoes with zero artificial ingredients. Our vanilla and chocolate frozen custard recipes use only real sugar, no corn syrup and milk from dairy farmers who pledge not to use artificial growth hormones.

Good Bones

Each Shack is constructed thoughtfully and purposefully to fit its unique environment, using a creative design approach that creates places and experiences like nowhere else. Think one-of-a-kind murals commissioned from local artists and lighting installations inspired by local surroundings. All good in wood!

Good Neighbors

We strive to be the best employers and citizens of each neighborhood we call home. Every Shack donates 5% of sales of a specific concrete to a local charity partner, while our Shack2O helps build public school classrooms. Each Shack features a selection of local food partners and purveyors, from Engkanto Brewery for our craft beers; Wildflour Café + Bakery, Auro Chocolate, Bucky’s, Bungalow Café and Tilde Bakery & Kitchen for our Concretes; and Whole Pet Kitchen for our Bag O-Bones.
